Seriously considering (That's why this post is on this thread, not "For Sale" ) selling off my steam outline battery electric loco's
I'm thinking of just having diesel outline battery loco's (for "instant running") on the line in future.

Would anyone be interested?

Locolines "Hunslike" Hunslet. 45mm. Built on a modified LGB chassis which has a 3v motor fitted. I can supply the original motor and leave it to you to figure where to put the batteries!
Simple DPDT switch gives Fwd/Off/Rev control. Runs at a nice slow speed and though lightweight (I've added no ballast weight) will pull a short train of small rolling stock.


GRS / Scratchbuilt Bagnall. 45mm. LGB chassis with DPDT switch control.


Unknown Manufacturer Beyer Peacock Tram. Essel dual gauge chassis, on/off switch and speed controller.

But seriously, there nice locos, why you'd want to get rid of them I have no idea!, But I'm skint now from buying the corris 'set'

Mmmmmm I do like Sir Theodore. Would love a GVT loco but funds are low, any thoughts on price?

Not at the moment, I've no idea about the body kit (but obviously know the value of the Essel chassis - which might yet go under a new diesel )
Incidentally, the GVT loco has been "titivated" since the photo with lamp irons, a lamp, oil can, fire irons, mash can and driver

I think you are doing the right thing mate. I have an aversion to steam outline electric loco's for some reason unknown to myself!

For some reason I can accept battery powered diesels though, although I do have a few OS nitro motors from RC Helicopters lying around that I keep looking at in a bodging manner! Hmmm IP Jessie with nitro power...Hmmmm. However I think a Roundhouse diesel chassis may be going under that if the master plan works out, anyone know if Ivor at IP will sell a spare Jessie bonnet & radiator grill?

They are fantastic looking models though, I'm sure they would sell good on ebay. As for the essel chassis, nice bit of kit indeed but how much would the tram thing sell for complete. GVT stuff seems to go well.

Well, the GVT tram has already left shed to a new home (Sir Haydn's next door neighbour!) which has brought a new recruit into the wonderful world of 16mm - which is nice

I have been thinking long and hard about the other two and have finally got over the "nostalgia trip" hang-up about keeping them!

Since we're a cash strapped railway in the first place and the current financial forecast is rather grim, they're going to have to go

As I type, I'm on a brief stop-over between touring dates, just back from "darn Sarff" and about to set off for bonnie Scotland.
I'll "float" them in the For Sale section when I get back but then eBay 'em if they don't sell to a Forum member.
