Jack is Back!

Post by MoelygestLR » Tue Aug 03, 2010 7:37 pm

Today I reassembled my IP Jack to be called Jack after my late grandad who funded rather a lot of my railway.

at the minute I have only just finished putting him back together after having changed the gearbox and motor and having the timpdon controller fixed as an electical component went wrong in the transmitter.

In the meantime I have upgraded the cab and fitted a rear light as well. the features have been taken inspiration from CVLR IP locos.

I havent got a picture yet as it needs a clean and a few more bits doing but hopefully it will be ready to be outshopped tomorrow almost complete (apart from new nameplates)
Thanks,

Sound good, perhapes sometime you can bring it to an NWAG steamup, and it will actually work
"What the hell is that?"
"It's a model icebreaker sir."
"It's a bit big isn't it?"
"It's a full scale model sir....."

Look forward to seeing another Jack, great loco's.

BTW what did you change your motor/gearbox to ? Or was it just direct replacment?
Tommy Dodd may have an ARS key but I have a TASS button & a Rope Ladder, just like pirates, except the TASS button bit.

direct replacement from old gearbox kit to new plastic gearbox kit. I hope this doesnt give the problems you have been having but we have kept the old gearbox set which my dad is getting his mate to weld a new plate on that should not only fix it but make it bombproof!
Thanks,
