what have you used for the throat plates? This is certainly an interesting project, I thought there were fine tolerances to get the chamber to resonate...

Wassat for? I'd be worried about blocking off the end of the flue tube too much personally.

Oh cool, I've always wondered what a bark box looks like, can't wait to hear it!

Ooops! Makes a bit more sense now, they do look similar though. We were discussing resonance chambers (i.e. bark boxes) the other day which may be why I jumped to that conclusion!
Anyway, my point still stands r.e. bark boxes...

Oh know this is a rather silly question but it looks like you are using turned wood to cap off the resonating chamber...?
Will these be mounted underneath the loco?

Ahha and have you made it so that you can slide the top plug in and out of the resonator chamber to adjust it and find the sweet spot?

well i cant get the whistles to a low enough pitch. just had a look at a djb example and right away i have seen where i went wrong. Iv made a whistle. the djb example is more or the blow into a milk bottle than blow across it. the djb whistle dosnt really whistle. MK2 will be made soon ;P
