You don't hang around, on Saturday it was "I'm thinking of changing this area" to suddenly the new version of Chyknell station as in the pics 2 days later! The platform does look better, look forward to seeing what else unfolds

Has there been any action on this railway lately? It's always been my favourite.

Not had much time Keith & when I did the weather hasnt played ball. However I had a session of running to shunt stock into secure stabling before going away for a few days this week. The cameras were rolling..... ;)

Absolutely - great stuff, the line is bedding in so nicely. Is it really a year and a half since that steam-up with Greg, Matt, Steve & co.? (Good to see you on here again, too.)

Great video, thanks Shane. The steam engines sound lovely, especially the "Carrie". You've either got a knack for positioning the chuff-pipes just right in the chimneys, or your camera has a good microphone, either way I enjoyed that.

Cheers for the replies guys, must say that nature has done more work on the line than I have this year thanks to the weather...

Earlier someone was out spotting the last train of 2012 (well 1958 actually). In other words I have finally weathered the wriggly tin vans I built in august & the new build bogie opens (xmas) have almost been finished.

A very good looking rake of weathered rolling stock.

Updates to Boc's bank almost completed. The aim to make the steepest gradient on the line & a place for nedding steam loco's working hard (or manual ones running away down the bank) look more pleasing to the eye.

Will post some pics later but in a rush so heres a link of a little video I did to test how things were coming along.

Very nice looking lineside fencing, and great to hear some proper 'chuffing'.

Boc's Slateworks sidings also got cleaned up.

And with the line recieving new bogie coaches the old original 4 wheelers were hauled to Fox Road works for scrapping.

Great stuff!
Is the culvert scratch-built? It looks ace :D and have you expanded the slate works a bit as well as "cleaning up" ;)

Which reminds me, we need to talk ;)

Yes I agree, that part was great. That "Carrie" is an excellent engine. It has the best "chuff" out of all your engines. It sounds like you have the timing spot on, and the Hackworth gear is interesting to watch. I really must try to acquire a "Carrie" some day if I can.

Excellent work as ever Shane, :D the line is looking fantastic, lovely shot looking under the bridge and down the bank, that culvert just adds to it even more :D

Looking good! I agree re the culvert - rarely modelled but a lovely touch. And that photo of the carriages awaiting scrapping is very poignant... I built some 4-wheelers a while back that I'm supposed to be grounding as lineside huts but I don't know if I'll ever be able to put my sentimentality aside long enough to actually do it...

Cheers,

Andrew.
