I try to make everything from scratch the token machine here was made from ply and the telephone from modelling clay. It does take time but it is rewarding

Progressing well.. Chimney constructed and Ive spent some time modelling the chimney pot to get a near representation of the prototype. I have to paint the whole model now and then I can start cutting out the roof tiles.

Wow, I love it, the wooden festiniog buildings have something about them. Ian stock has built a model of the origional dduallt station building and it looks brilliant, this will probably look even better, the chimney looks very realistic and well worth the time to get it right. :D

Brilliant I love it, I was working at Minnfordd today (Megabash I trimmed the big hedge by the Portmerion sign) and I was thinking what a great model the replica waiting room would make!

I have got a big job with the roof tiles so could take some time cutting em out! I have decided to build the water tower and Tonys mentioned toilet block next and make this into a diorama with track and ballast to display some of my stock.

I dont know of anyone who produces one you could try e bay under dolls house miniatures but I would have a go at making one They are quite simple to make as they are simply a box on legs with a pipe sticking out the top. If you want you can add a grain of wheat bulb behind a red cellophane sweet wrapper to simulate the fire

P & J models do one as part of a kit whether they sell it individually you could ask.

I just make mine our of a large diameter piece of tube with a cardboard fire door with card details. then a small diameter piece of tube in the top! The top of the large diameter tube is blocked off with a circular piece of card. Simple and cheap!

Well I had thought about how you could make one but it wouldn't turn out as nice as a commercial one so wondered where I could get one. I may find one at Stoneleigh perhaps.

Here's one I made myself really cheaply!

The bent pipe is deliberate. The stove looks fine to me.

I like the party popper idea Ive got some hidden away somewhere I must retrieve them. Though I must keep focus on cutting out these roof tiles for Tanybwlch station. Once this is done I may have some free time.Though I still have unfinished projects to finish off and I inspected my line and there is some maintenance to carry out the annual creosote of sleepers and ballasting and some of my planted alpines of last year didnt survive the winter so will be replaced. All jolly good fun!

Yes so true !! All in a days work. Be great if those idle figures did some work instead of sitting and standing around posing all the time. Talking of which I bought a guard off e bay today have been looking for this one in particular and hey presto it turns up on e bay.

That's Mr Phil Hawkins who runs the 'friends of Tan y Bwlch' a group which is tidying up the whole area, I was up there the other day putting posters up, looked like surveyors there probably to do with the new footbridge which will be where the Victorion bridge was.
