Brass work - Couple of Questions

Post by Jonnyb » Mon Mar 01, 2010 2:23 pm

Is there a guide somewhere on the net for working with brass, for example if someone were to build a tender?

Also does anyone one know the width of a roundhouse katie and also the footplate height.

You may be able to work out where im going with this.

Also I assume there are various suppliers for brass tubing, sheet and box section. Could someone point me in the right direction.

The width of a Roundhouse Katie is 110mm, I'll get the footplate height for you when I've got enough space on my workbench!

K&S Metals must be the firm supplying the largest amount of brass sheet and sections in model engineering sizes. They can be obtained from all good (!) model shops.

Thanks for the input, looks like a trip to the local model shop.
