Ooooh, only very few people know about it. hmmm what can I say...

I like things which haven't been done before so think about what could be impossible in 16mm scale which I want to make work.
Then think about two totally different carriages (One 3ft gauge the other standard gauge) mated together with some coffee stirrers and LASER cut bits thrown in!
I might not get it finished though!

no problem! Today I have added the footboards and brass grab handles. I will probably add the door handles tomorrow but need painting so I will need to experiment to see if i can find a convincing brass colour, which matches the grab handles. I hate doing these things but it has to be done! :(

With only a few days to go until stoneleigh the coach appears to be well on it's way to completiton. The pics below show the progress. Left to do is fit the door hinges, finish the lettering, fit the enamel door signs (still haven't arrived but I have been assured they will arrive this week) and paint and add a few pieces of strapping.

I don't have working brakes! I'll be interested to see what miniature town has come up with this year. :D

Absolutely fantastic! Beats my NWNGR Ashbury (not lowered) hands down
"What the hell is that?"
"It's a model icebreaker sir."
"It's a bit big isn't it?"
"It's a full scale model sir....."

Wow, that's a stunning coach, and what's even more impressive is the age at which you have reached that standard.

 good god, that's a job and a half! Well done Lewis! I think it's going to be tough on the day! (Unless Mini Town has produced a buffet coach with real edible 16mm sized snacks, working tea urns, working cooker and lighting...).

I have the sandwiches and the tea urn plus cups and saucers in my buffet car. The sandwiches are a picnic to make! One mil ply cut into small triangles make sure its three ply as the centre is the filling.

I'm well impressed with that coach, looks fantastic. I wish I had the skill/time & patience to build one that good. Excellent.

thanks alot! It certainly has taken a very long time. Today I have nearly managed to finish the lettering and I have added the final bits of strapping on the ends. My enamel door signs still haven't turned up but a call to blackham transfers reveals that they have been sent but if I don't recieve them I will have to run over to the stand on saturday and glue them on then! :D I might get round to posting the final pics on friday night.

Blackhams!!!! dont trust him. They may not be in the post or on the stand on saturday!!! Stuff from him can take upto 2 years. Even geoff munday orders his transfers a year in advance! I ordered some TR crests 3 years ago! still no sign of them.

He has told me he will be there, he also wants me to show him the coach. I've never had any problems whatsoever before, everything has been delivered very quickly, so hopefully they will arrive tomorrow. :?
