I have almost finished a Greenbat battery loco. It's based on the one on the abbey light railway. You can see it here

It has been totally scratchbuilt using card and a platicard chassis with coopper craft wheels. I will post pics soon.

A question for SillyBilly is that the same class of battery electric that richie has? Would make a nice s/b project and its pretty easy to make!

No it's not, Richard has a Wingrove and Rogers one, which wouldn't be an 'easy' one to scratchbuild as it has inside frames and coupling rods.

I know what you mean though. No it's alot easier than them, just needs painting and wiring now. Built out of a Weetabix box.

I have now painted it and will post pics when the camera starts working.

Cool, a driver would be a nice finishing touch, would give it a bit more height.

Ye, I'm going to get a driver tht looks me as i have driven it a few times. Thanks for the kind comments. It still needs wiring though.
Hopefully I might be going to stoneleigh so i will bring it (along wiht the flat wagon and hopefully a coach)

I would, but No.1- I don't know how it works because i have never been.
No.2 I am not sure if i am going yet.

So far it has cost £2 for the coopercrft wheels ect.. which i found in my local model shop and they only had 1. He had forgotten it was there and sed give him a couple of quid for it. The cardboard was free (my way of recycling) and the motor was something my dad found lying around. The wheels for the wagon were £2 to from my model railway club and i have another pair. Also it will be £3 for a figure. So actually £5 including figure.
So thats how much it cost.

Yeah I think so I can't remember if you have to be a member to enter though... Are you a member?

Give it a shot! I entered last year (and despirately trying to think of something to enter this year) and was pleasently supprised!
It is good fun and adds a little extra dimension to the stonleigh show.

No I'm not a member yet! But joining this month . I might give it a go but i don't know if it's a definet that i am going., Also how do you enter?

Just print out a form, fill it in and turn up!
You get the picture of the item taken on the day by the team there then leave it to be judged!
