I have almost finished a Greenbat battery loco. It's based on the one on the abbey light railway. You can see it here
http://www.freewebs.com/abbeylightrailway/no12.htm
It has been totally scratchbuilt using card and a platicard chassis with coopper craft wheels. I will post pics soon.

A question for SillyBilly is that the same class of battery electric that richie has? Would make a nice s/b project and its pretty easy to make!
Thanks,

No it's not, Richard has a Wingrove and Rogers one, which wouldn't be an 'easy' one to scratchbuild as it has inside frames and coupling rods.

I know what you mean though. No it's alot easier than them, just needs painting and wiring now. Built out of a Weetabix box. :D

WOW! That looks absolutely fantastic! Something you wouldn't usually see modelled either.

Do you mind if I add your website to my links page?

EDIT: No wait, I've done that already

Cool, a driver would be a nice finishing touch, would give it a bit more height.

So far it has cost £2 for the coopercrft wheels ect.. which i found in my local model shop and they only had 1. He had forgotten it was there and sed give him a couple of quid for it. The cardboard was free (my way of recycling) and the motor was something my dad found lying around. The wheels for the wagon were £2 to from my model railway club and i have another pair. Also it will be £3 for a figure. So actually £5 including figure.
So thats how much it cost.
Why you ask?

Give it a shot! I entered last year (and despirately trying to think of something to enter this year) and was pleasently supprised!
It is good fun and adds a little extra dimension to the stonleigh show.
Nervousness!!

Just print out a form, fill it in and turn up!
You get the picture of the item taken on the day by the team there then leave it to be judged!
