I did some maths yesterday...

Post by Hancockshire » Thu Jan 21, 2010 9:04 pm

...& I found out that I could buy a Regner Konrad with my wages in four months! The thing is, when(if)I get it, I would want to re-paint it in Maroon & fit proper couplings on it. I am also stuck for names. Do you know what paint manufacture I should use & how to remove the body? Can you also come up with names for me please? Cheers

Nice! GET SAVING!!

The body will come off by just undoing the screws on it, so you need to buy some small spanners. Paint - well just thoroughly clean it down with white spirit or meths etc, to degrease it all, then I'd use Halfords spray paint to do the job.

Everything comes off really easily- see my loco modification thread. The boiler is held to the chassis with some long bolts and also by the steam conection pipes!
Halfords paints do seem quite good if you can actually get them to colour match it correctly for you...
Hmmm I name all my locos after local rivers... Praps you could do something similar if you are stuck for ideas?

That's what I'm always calling my mate's one... a Crapi.

Hancockshires potential loco fleet names:

Anglia
Capri
Cortina
Consul
Cosworth
Escort
Fiesta
Granada

They don't sound bad at all... how about even 'Fordson'

Like it.

Personally, if I was going to call my loc after a car, I'd go for 'mini'.
