It should be easy to DIY a model

I recently found a battery one I converted years ago (No2 son is now 18 so must have been about 5 then)...I put Binnie wheels on it but only drives on one set of wheels 0-2-2?

It amazingly still runs and I fancy making it into a small katie type loco or something from the free book us 16mmers got recently

What's the motor unit you used? Is the original nearly 32mm so you whacked on flanged wheels?

It had wheels for the carpet and was nearly 32mm, so pushed and glued Binnie plastic wheels on...alright for small toys

The larger loco in the AWNUTS blog I think was a G scale sized one, you could always hit the car boots and charity shops and plonk onto a 32mm chassis

The nice thing is all the TTTE locos are based on real ones..TOBY was LNER Wishbech Tram

Percy as serving on Sodor had a long and chequered past...

the reason percy looks how he looks is because the artist the REV was working with at the time didnt pay much attention to the REVs original sketches and the result was as the REV called it a Green catapiller with red stripes.

the new Bachmann Thomas stuff should start being sold in the UK from about march i think...

im planning on getting a thomas and repainting it into BR black, though am thinking about either GER blue or M&GN brown instead :/ also want to get an annie or clarabel to convert into M&GN TZ no. 129 (like one recently restored at NNR) as the model looks similar....

although on order from mum i have to get another thomas or percy to stay as it is for my neighbours grandkids and my little cousins...

Trouble with Thomas and Percy is that they don't really look much like anything but Thomas and Percy- no saddle tank I've seen has the proportions or shape of Percy, and although Thomas still looks vaguely like the E whichever one it was tank, he's been cartoonised enough for it just to be a passing resemblance really.

However I'm looking forward to the wagons coming out, they look great.- hope the price will be too.

looking good - smoke box door looks a little small, expecially on Percy? but still very good!

Just been looking at the Bachmann G scale stuff, and it's not really that cheap!

However - if you look at some of the American stockists ont'internet, not only are they already IN STOCK but selling at the same dollar price as our pound prices (ie sets at $136) - worth bearing in mind if your visiting the states this year or know anyone coming over???????!

I actually stumbled onto the TTTE stuff while I was looking for an Aristocraft snowplough blade. They look excellent and cost around $16 - can't seem to even get 'em over here

I hear on the grapevine that Bachmann are planning to expand the range this year - most probs with James.
