A little procress on the tram i have overhaul the mamod minor (steam heart) i have also orded many meccano sprocket and some chain i have work out a ratio of 6:1 i have also cut the buffer beam also going to a hardware shop to get some oak for the chassic
off the next two weeks its real going to come together

about 550 rpm 6 try on the fly = 1 turn of the wheels

Hmm, I once had a go and used 1:12 gearing which gave a slow and powerful run with a mamod minor, but then I really love trains running slow!

some for procress
mamod minor finish will exhast and 3/4 sprocket
the 2 inch and anothere 3/4 sprocket
also the brass gear which will rever the rotaion
the first run at plesy2105
the steam engine finsihed
i have borded out the cylinder from 9 to10 mm to gove me an efficany of 0.23%
the main tranmission link to the gear box

more importeant procress the gear and motion work is finish, i spent a lunch time at school sweat of a lathe turn and milling sprockett out
here the results
the bussiness end of the operation i got a ratio of 14:1 wthich will be great!!!

just steam power them there no need to mess around with electricls
the tram will be the same wheel base and length as an edrig but 1 cm wider
