ROUGE COUNTY is famous in some quarters

Chris Walas uses scrap and kit bashes, and uses clay to make Locos, stock and figures

when you enter the Menu floats at the side click and enjoy the links, really super work and in links goes to how to bits...hours of fun

I did say "some" wierd stuff ;)

I like the logging locos, ie the one witht the boiler mounted sideways:

And this is nicely weathered:

I'm the sort of person who hates stuff like Lord of the Rings, Star Wars etc, so don't expect me to like whimsical hahaha!

And no, I'm not a chequebook modeller completely, I have built some scratch built things, but I'm more of a "debit card" modeller!  And as for purist, yes to a point - I have an Edrig

Well he is right. There's two types of us really. People who like to 'RUN' trains, and people who like to 'BUILD' them... I happen to be the former, so buy stuff and run them... I don't have time for making stuff often as the spare time I have I'd prefer to run them. The rest of the time I'm doing school work/projects etc. I would like to start making steamers though, so hence why I'm slowly making a Mamod Minor 1 based thing.

Some of the locos are excellent- I love the Colonial looking Fairlie for example and some of the Bachmann bashes.

But on the other hand some of it is far too silly for my tastes- I'm definitely a bit of a purist really, more so than Pete (hence my dislike of Edrig ;) ).

What does that make me then cos i like to both make and run steamers!

Dont like any of the whimsical stuff although i will more than happily mess about at steam ups as many can prove. I much prefer running quite realistically

Glad you've found something in it

I like the construction photos especially the Fairlies and the painting of the locos and people.....we can all learn even pennyless  postal order & debit card modellers like me

see this link re how he constructed a Fairlie

Have you? Where?! "Arguments" on this forum are basically just peoples different points of veiw... and the use of emoticons e.g. " " show it is either sarcastic, funny or just bullsh*t.

As for making logs, you can just pick up branches that have been cut from trees or blow down in the wind, and cut them into nice logs... More enviro. friendly!

Darn right you have, how can I ever foget my steamup turning into a farm animal orgy? Goodness knows whats going to happen next time, especially as there are a couple more animals in the Nant Llywyd valley now... :!:
As for whimsey stuff, I don't mind it indeed some things I like quite a lot (I'd like to build a dragon carriage for the ANLR), though i'm probably more a builder then a runner, unless steaming up with mates is involved
"What the hell is that?"
"It's a model icebreaker sir."
"It's a bit big isn't it?"
"It's a full scale model sir....."

It must have been a hard Monday for us all

As for logs...some of us have locos that are light in the pulling department...anyway are they not amazing???
