Well I can confirm that the first pictures to be posted on the forum will be up about midday the 3rd January. Those who can make it to the PTLR on the 3rd however will get to see her in the flesh. Or new sparkly paint job.

I believe you need to change it again, as PTLRsam emailed me yesterday saying the date had been changed to the 2nd to allow "His legendary Bungleness" to attend
PTLRcecil showed me a photo of Sir Robin on Saturday, unfortunatly it gave nothing away as it was in the shed at Pine Tree Road and he flicked past it on the camera before I got a chance of a proper look...

But who was right in the poll? Yes, she's red, but it doesn't look LMS to me. I'd say it was closer to Furness Railway livery (appropriate to her home turf, certainly) and that puts it well into the "Obscure pre-grouping livery" category. That was my guess, though if I'm honest I must admit I was visualising M&GNR mustard yellow...

Yes it did end up as an obscure pregrouping livery (furness red). As for the boiler barrel it now needs a though cleaning (I knew there was a reason all pot boiler had black boilers).

Indeed it was great to see Sir Robin unveiled, and a very nice job Si had done of it too, although it was already getting quite dirty after half a run (plus some dirt from a previous run)
Here is Sir Robins day in pics

Image
PTLRcecil unveils Sir Robin at Dragley Beck to a great crowd of....er... about 4 or 5 actually

Image
Sir Robin in service hauling some Furness Railway liveried coaches

And failed in Pine Tree Road goods yard with the minor problem of a connecting rod falling off
However it was repared to take up service later on in the day, bravely carrying on in the cold when the gas burners didn't want to light and the wind took off the coach roofs
