Could anyone tell me how to remove the smoke box on Carrie so I can fit a Summerlands Chuffer?

As for what it should sound like just have a look at any of my youtube vids and listen to one of our Accy engines. Or ask Silly Billy.

Slightly OT, has anyone tried one of the new ACME ones he is advertising? Tenner less than the Summerland ones, wondering if it's comparable although I think I'd rather go for the Summerlands one regardless, for reasons I won't go into here.

I'm afraid not, you managed to keep the conversation so far to Garden Railways, and chuff pipes are quite relevent to a topic about removeing the smokebox on an engine :P
