One of our truly great eccentrics
In part 2 he gets a bit philosophical, especially his views on steam power....

Certainly one in a million....
I was fortunate enough to meet Teddy on two occasions: The first during one of his open days at Cadeby Rectory where I rode behind Pixie on his line and watched the indoor railway in operation by the local scout group.
The second time was when we exhibited our 0 16.5 narrow gauge layout at his Model Railway Exhibition held in Cadeby Village Hall. An interesting experience as he had ignored the layout dimensions resulting in part of the end-to-end baseboards being sited through the open door to the gents toilet.... Temporarily closed due to unforeseen circumstances !
We loved every minute of his company and enthusiasm.

Wow! That must have been a really memorable experience - meeting Teddy, I mean, not operating a layout in the Gents .....

I have a vague recollection of him turning up late to Rempstone steam rally. I'm not sure if he had driven the twenty odd miles from Cadeby, but the way he was charging down the road to the entrance was a sight to behold.
