New Layout Issues

I'm expanding my simple oval outdoor G Scale layout into a larger figure-eight style with switches to allow for train to run in both directions.

I'm using AnyRail to plan things out and having difficulty making a layout where all the track pieces actually connect (see attachment).

Can this problem be overcome with partial track pieces or by "bending" sections of connected track to make the connections?

Any suggestions appreciated.

Hello,

For the gap I think you can use straight rails and cut them to the length.
And I think you can physicaly align the track .

I had the same issues on my layout, I solved as discribed above.

Sam's right. If you inserted tailor made straight sections where marked in blue, you should be able to align things.

The alternative is to use Flexi track.

Hello JP,
I have hacked, sawn and bent rails loads of times to fit.
If it's code 332,(LGB, Piko, Aristo) it's almost indestructible.

When you get to physically plonking the track down, you'll find each joint will add it's own "wiggle room" to the layout - you may get away with fewer if any custom-length sections.

Then again, it's easy to cut down a length with a hacksaw or angle grinder. (I bought my battery grinder specifically for cutting 45mm gauge flex track!)
