In another topic, you'll have seen that I've started 3D printing A type containers for transporting fruit on the PLR.

Now here's my problem. I created a file for the roof of the container. Fine, I thought. I projected the profile for the roof, using the end of the container as a template, so the roof would have exactly the same profile as the ends.
However, when it was printed, the apex of the roof was a good 1.5mm lower than the profile of the ends.

I printed the roof flat on the bed Do you think this was the problem?

I had to reprofile the roof using layers of 0.5mm plasticard and filler and a lot of filing. I'm wondering whether to redraw the roof making it 1.5mm taller - but it goes against the grain!!

I've had the same effect. The answer, although time consuming, is to resin print the roof either on end, or else on one edge with supports on the under side.

Even printing with 4 flat bottomed integral supports on the under side didn't solve it for me, the supports printed flat Ok, but then curved up at the ends and the roof flattened slightly as it UV cured!

If you still want to fdm print it, then on-end is the answer in my experience.

I would agree - on end is the way to print a roof.

As suggested; I've now started printing the roofs (rooves) vertically and they are ok. Until now, I've always printed my roofs vertically but I thought I'd try this one horizontally. Bad mistake! Not only was it too short vertically, I had to do a lot of work smoothing out the layers on the curve of the roof. Much smoother doing it vertically.
