Merlin Midas MKIII

Hello,
Happy to reach your forum, sorry for my english, i'm french :D (i didn't see if i can introduce myself somewhere in the forum)
i've just bought this little Merlin 060
Someone here got the same or another Merlin like this ?
i you have advice about that, i'm a total newbie ;)

As for the Merlin, I'll have to defer to the live steam folks. It's very pretty, I think the red suits it well! :thumbup:

Merlin locos seem to have a charm of their own.

Interesting. This looks like a Major above the running boards, but with outside frames, the Beck wheels, and updated valve gear?

My guess it's a Merlin from pretty early on in their history. I've not seen a Midas with this body before but afaik they are 0-4-0/2 whereas this is 0-6-0?

It looks to have a Beck Chassis/Valves etc but the body work/boiler is distinctively Merlin. Something in between the Mayflower/Major and what I assume are the first Merlin sold locomotives:
