Question without notice please give answers with some thought.
I recently subscribed to "Garden Rail" magazine (I now have Dec 23 and Jan 24 editions) and I am wondering how I could possibly download and store them on a hard drive thus creating a library for perusal into the future.
Is this possible?
I have seen the "Library"but this is dependent on the continued availability of the publishers site.
I have found "print pages" that lets me convert 2 pages to pdf but doing this to the whole magazine would be time consuming.
I view the magazine via "Pocket Mags" viewer.

Rik; I looking forward to reading about your freight handling methods

No, I think they restrict the number of pages you can print at any one time to deter people from downloading. A shame really.

One of the reasons I opted for the original electronic subscription was that it gave access to all the past editions but when they transferred over to Pocket Mags from Exact Editions we lost all the back issues and had to start over. I tried printing off a few articles before the transfer but which do I choose?

I notice that Exact Editions now offer the entire back catalogue of Railway Modeller right back to their very first 1949 edition.

https://blog.exacteditions.com/the-full ... available/

It's a pity Pocket Mags doesn't offer the same for its electronic publications.

Rik
PS It doesn't really answer your question, Graeme, but opens up another line of enquiry

Thanks Rik
Might look into getting hard copy delivered instead of electronic.
Pocket Mags do offer "all 90 missing back issues of Garden Rail" for £169.99

Maybe you could just take screenshots of each page? Might be easier, if your computer can take screenshots.

Rik, Garden Rail reappeared on Exact Editions a while back, complete with the back issue archive going back to 2006.

Costs a bit more for an Exact Editions online subscription than for the Pocket Mags version. Depends on what you think access to 200+ back issues is worth to you.......

GAP, if you prefer paper copies, as far as I know Garden Rail is still available to order through Aust. newsagents (if you have one). My local one went belly up during the shutdowns and I now have to get my reading matter via the Ozpost delivery snail.

Regards,
Graeme

I might have a talk to my newsagent to see if he can get it.

I can download 2 pages at a time using pdf its a bit of a pain when an article covers 3 pages but I should be able to re compile the mag that way.
Just wanted a pdf version of the whole thing to save mucking around.
