"What the hell is that?"
"It's a model icebreaker sir."
"It's a bit big isn't it?"
"It's a full scale model sir....."

The vibration is cause by me using a pump and sending burst of power into the cylinder. This little project might take a back seat for a while as I am hoping to make a new engine shed/yard area and put a steam crane back together.

Had a quick fiddle with the loco today and got it running a bit smoother but untill the loco is on the track and the momentum of the engine being used to keep the cylinder moving ivve got no idea how slow it will run

Been a while since i've posted on this project and there is some progress to report. First a design change, the slide valve cylinder wasn't working propperly no matter what i did. So i have replaced it with a smaller version of the idris engine unit. The boiler has also been made and tested to 80 psi and 20 psi on steam. As of today the engine unit is in the frames but only being held there by the axels. Hopefully i will get the bracket made today. Pics tonight.

Good work, there's a German steam engine manufacture that make tiny steam engines & they use a rubber band to hold the occilating cylinders in place
