I have been documenting my construction of a 6'x 8' indoor G gauge line in a separate topic here. https://gardenrails.org/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=14092

Now that it is complete, I have started a new youtube channel, separate to my usual Sandstone and Termite, for all future videos.

Thanks for your comment on youtube too. That little blue loco in your picture looks just like what I want for my next indoor loco build.

That has come together really well, Greg. The whole is indeed greater than the sum of its parts.p

When you mentioned the 8 inch loco limit in your video, it occurred to me that mine is around 7, so it might be a good fit. It's mostly 3D printed and I've been working on cleaning up the designs to share... hopefully soon it'll be easy enough for you to get one! I designed it for 32mm but I'll see if I can make it work on 45 as well.

I'm trying to figure out how to use parts of my old HO backdrop for something similar.

Thanks for the offer, but I am not into 3D printing. I prefer to build from scratch.

Thanks. Yes, it's not really finished. Still plenty of small details to add, and more wagons to build, some better lighting, some backscenes not quite right yet etc etc....

Just a heads-up.
Some may have got a 'page does not exist' message when trying to see the video. I did this morning!
Turns out that when I created the new Channel I did not authenticate who I am.

After much searching the web, I found that Youtube NOW requires this step to ensure I am not a robot. Too bad that Youtube does not make it clear.
So I had to do the 2-step authentication trick with the code from the mobile phone.

Hope it's still exists tomorrow.

I certainly understand that. Sometimes it does feel like 3D printing can cheapen the experience somewhat, and you don't get amazingly clever things like smokestacks made from doorknobs! (Just for example.)

Thats really great Greg. The selective close up shots completely disguise the actual size of the layout and the mind assumes it to be much larger than it really is.

Thanks Rik and Philip. I was really just trying out different camera angles - not easy to hide the rest of the shed! But I found that old truck (from grandkids days) and amazingly it fitted through the tunnel and had clearance around the rest of the track. Hence the story was born.

It was a bit warmish for trains outside, so Keith and I ran on the indoor line. Keith's small yellow devil loco is finally finished and ran well and really looked the part on the small line. It and my baby Heisler handled most of the loads.
