Accucraft Countess locking up

Post by Marklinsteam » Thu Aug 10, 2023 5:22 pm

Good afternoon fellow Garden Railway Enthusiasts,

I am new to this forum and I am looking for assistance. My friend has given me an Accucraft Countess locomotive. Unfortunately the locomotive took a tumble before I got it and suffered minor damage i.e. the crank on middle axle to which the valve gear on one side is attached was bent as was the connecting rod to the valve. I have straightened the crank and the connection rod but when I test the locomotive it attempts to run forward or in reverse but locks up. I suspect the valve timing is out (am I right?)

Can anyone suggest where I could get a diagram of the valve motion for this locomotive or would anyone have photographs of the left and right side (wheels quartered) and the underside of the locomotive so that I can compare it to mine.

Looking forward to your replies.

Yours sincerely,

John

Hi John
I can't help I'm afraid, but I'm sure there must be someone on here who could help.
Failing that, you could post something on the 16mm Facebook group. If you don't do FB, I will happily copy your enquiry on to it and post replies here.
