Thanks all for the information. I also found last night these soundboards from itt products (https://ittproducts.com). Overall, these sites provide us with more flexibility depending on our design. These mp3 players cost around £10 each (inc. SD card) and put out 3W of sound, which is more than enough to my mind. I've noticed there's a similar product on eBay at the moment for £8.81 for three!
