I have been contemplating getting one of these, but that video has clinched the deal.

Thanks for posting it Pete! Could you post a couple of pics of the conversion, please?

Mr. Bond, if you PM me your email address I can forward you the email containing all the details about purchasing a Summerlands chuffer

MTA - Sorry, I didn't take any of the conversion. I was going to fit it to my Fowler, but realised, as you have to take the smokebox off, it wouldn't be a good idea (Fowlers have all sorts going into the smokebox like dummy pipework etc I'd have to remove). So I put on Bertie instead... easy enough, undo the front bolt, remove the smokebox, cut the pipes down with a junior hacksaw so the chuff pipe fits about 5mm below the top of the chimney, and then push fit the 2 pipes into the holes. Replace smokebox... simple!

Pauly - I don't think it has really, I've noticed it runs a bit more slowly (which you'd consider a good thing). But I will probably fit R/C to it now due to my gradients and curves which make it hard to control a manual loco well.

Nice video, nice noise but I've got a funny feeling I've heard the music somewhere before (nudge, nudge!)

The chuff pipe is a "summerlands chuffer", designed by Chris Bird. This is from his email on the 16mm e-group
The Summerlands Chuffer is available today from Alan Whitaker of PPS Steam Models 01373 300599 pps-steam-models. co.uk

and direct from Nigel Garrett of D P Supplies, Unit 19, Jubilee Enterprise Centre, Jubilee Close, Weymouth, DT4 7BS Tel. 01305 781911 (Mon Fri 9-5) and
enquiries@dp- supplies. co.uk . Nigel can accept cheques and Paypal but not cards. No website as yet I'm afraid.

The price is £25 inc Vat and P&P for the UK (please contact us for overseas price) - and we are offering a 28 day money back offer on the purchase price if you are not happy.
"What the hell is that?"
"It's a model icebreaker sir."
"It's a bit big isn't it?"
"It's a full scale model sir....."

Great video, and sound.

I was on youtube and I found this. I'm not sure if anyone from the forum has seen it, but here it is anyway.
