‘St George’ Rolling stock

It’s been a busy year for me so haven’t had as much time to work on projects as I’d like! This is my latest project - a rake of carriages to suit ‘St George’ - a Roundhouse Lady Anne.
I’m building freelance style carriages from Line Side Hut. I fear Jerry Irwin’s kits have totally spoiled any other manufacturer for me as nothing quite lives up to building one of his kits!
This carriage is almost complete - just missing buffers and roof vents. I really love the interior detail of these kits and it’s nice to have interior overlays & glazing supplied. The roof was a bit of a pain to put together and the interior seat detail seems to fowl the roof going on properly - I will be more vigilant on the second build as it was likely user error!

I should point out that St George is undergoing some upgrades hence the missing parts!

I agree. Presumably, you painted before assembly?

Yep! I painted the main body and overlays separately, lined the overlays with gold pen then assembled and lacquered. Painting was pretty painless overall.

I did wonder if there was gold on the inside faces. I couldn't tell if it was there or just a trick of the light.

That is a fine looking carriage and the gold lining is a really nice touch.

I wish my rolling stock looked half as good in close up. Wonderful finish (despite the paint problems)
