Is 45mm Gauge the same as G Gauge

Hello,
I am from the US and wanting to get into live steam/ Remote Control in garden railways. I want to model some UK narrow gauge locomotives but am also open to modeling whatever I find interesting. I have been researching different gauges and track lengths. I was interested in 32mm but there are almost no listings around me for track or the shipping is more than the product listed (all probably shipped from the UK). I saw on a couple of websites that 45mm narrow gauge and G gauge were the same track length. Are 45mm locomotive and G gauge track able to go together? I have been modeling in OO/HO and don't know much about live steam or the differences in garden railways. Any info will help. Thank you all for any assistance.
