Live Steam detailing parts

Just took delivery of a RH Katie, and am looking for some detail parts for her. Specifically; running boards, lubricators, sanders. Have looked high and low on this Forum and all I can find are pictures of engines wearing the above mentioned details, but can anyone share where these details can be purchased?
Thank you for any help!

I can't help directly, but have you tried the Forum suppliers list?
https://gardenrails.org/forum/viewtopic ... 59&t=13215

It has a lot of suppliers on it in alphabetical order so it may take some work to find one with what you are looking for, but if all else fails...!

Hello!

Try Locoworks - sorry, typing this on my phone and can't work out how to paste a link, but just Google them and look under Detailing Parts, the Roundhouse.

Hope that helps,

Andrew

As Andrew suggests, Locoworks is your best bet, as the bits are made of durable metals. There are suppliers of whitemetal details as well, but I have my doubts about using them anywhere around live steamers.

Thank you for the Locoworks suggestion, they had exactly what I was looking for.
Placed a L137 order with them! Thanks again!

Well - Google left me none the wiser, unless you ordered tropical fish, or are working to UK Health & Safety rules? What's an L137 order when it's at home?🤷🏼‍♂️

Lol! My American computer can't make the fancy L = Pound sign.

Ha ha I guess the £ symbol does look like a fancy cursive "L" now you mention it. What parts did you order?

I went mad with my Roundhouse "Billy" kit and ordered every conceivable part (practically) from Locoworks, DJB, Swift 16, Brandbright, others I can't remember. I may have gone a bit overboard.

I got running boards, lubricators, oil boxes from Locoparts.

I couldn't find separate parts for sale on DJB site.
I'd really like some DJB sand boxes for my Sabrina, which is mostly assigned to the Coal Mine train and has a steep grade up to the mine with empties, but nevertheless could use some rail sand traction...

DJB stopped selling detail castings back in late 2020, the given reason was lack of demand.

I think I saw brass castings for sandboxes listed on the Swift Sixteen site last time I looked at it.

As an aside, that's because it is. The symbol is derived from the Latin word "Libra" which means "scales" or "balance" from the days when silver was weighed out. (The pound weight abreviation "lb" derives from the same origin.)

Doh! Back before decimalisation, Pounds, Shillings and Pence were referred to as Lsd😅
Edited because autocorrect changed Lsd to LSD - not the same thing at all🤣

Graeme, thanks for the Swift Sixteen info, found the sandboxes and several other useful pieces on their website. However, unfortunately they do not ship outside of the UK at this time.
