My latest project is to replace my LGB manual point levers with something which looks a bit more realistic. A few bits of brass and a couple of redundant sleepers from a sleeper-strip. I've blogged the process in case anyone wants to have a go

Very neat job Rik. I'm guessing the blades are not sprung but there seems to be enough weight to hold them in place whilst allowing trains to trail through without derailing?

Yes, unsprung. In fact, trailing through switches the blades to the other direction. No doubt, by shifting the positions of the pivot holes in the lever and the plate, it could be made to spring back ...... sounds like a bit more experimentation might be on the cards ......

I've modified the construction slightly. My thinking is that inverting the bolts puts the nuts on top which look a bit more realistic than the cheese heads.

"arockstone" is a quite well known SM32/G Scale designer/contributer on Thingiverse, with a range of wagons and track components. Both Rik and I ( and others) have printed versions of his little diesel loco.

Somewhere (possibly Thingiverse), I came across 3d drawings of a double slip in 45mm gauge. I might give it a try sometime.
