Looks like fun. Are the locos powered off the shelf or more of your clever mods?

Are the locos powered off the shelf or more of your clever mods?
They are modified children's toys mostly bought in charity shops for a couple of pounds. The ones I mostly use were marketed by a company known as 'Golden Bear' in Telford; I believe they were discontinued some years ago. They were made for converting to '0' gauge as if their original wheels that had tyres are removed Binnie GRP wheels can be fitted to the original axles which are the right diameter and length. As well as a good range of locomotives there were carriages and wagons made; none of which are detailed or to scale with one another but they are colourful and the children recognise them. If the locomotives are left not powered motors and batteries can be fitted in a wagon or carriage which can be used to push them. Most of the locomotives that I have modified are powered and the odd one has R?C.
It is interesting if some of the modified larger recognisable toys are on display on a model railway in an exhibition visitors often ask if one can be run for their child or grandchild to see. I cannot remember ever being asked to see one of the steam or electric models could be seen in motion.
