The title is a safety message broadcast in Queensland Aust each cane harvesting season Jul-Dec and still we manage to total people and vehicles who try to out run the trains.
A train of 100 wagons of 3 ton bins with no brakes except on the loco is really hard to stop in a hurry.
Fortunately there has not been an accident on this railway.

Are you also going for the full 100 wagons?

The cane trains are destined to be on their own stand alone layout with an interface to this layout complete with a sugar mill as the central theme when I finally get it built.

Always a treat to see your cane fleet in action. Are your chopped bins permanently loaded, or is the cane removable?

I read in an issue of Light Railways magazine, that one of Quanba mill's Perry locos, had a series of car symbols painted at the front corner of one side tank. Like the bombers of the second world war, it signified the number of "encounters" the loco had won at level crossings.

The chopped bins are full of sugar cane mulch stuffed into them so are removable. I can tip it into a bucket at the mill end and take it over to the farms end and stuff it back into the bins.
Having a bale handy overcomes any loss plus the loss mulches the garden underneath.
The whole stick cane if removable as well.

We have people racing to beat the cane train in the botanic gardens crossings luckily we only run at 7Kph but even at that speed it would not be pretty. We are only blocking the road for less than a minute ate each crossing go figure.
