Hello ,
My name is Michael Schulz and I live in Berlin-Germany. My hobby is the 0 gauge in 1:45 scale.
I am now 71 years old and have a battery wholesaler and also sell some items in Gauge0, Since we now have a weekend house outside Berlin with a garden, I am busy building a garden railroad on modules that can be put away if necessary. That I once bought a 1:19 scale diesel locomotive NS2 from a Japanese in Berlin, I build in this size. I have Peco SM 32 as the track and drive with RC and batteries.Later I would like to build routes on 20 cm wide boards (modules) so that there is also a route. Maybe I can do it in autumn. I have already read a lot here in the forum and admire what so everything is built. From time to time I will report. Greetings from Berlin

Hello fans of the 16mm Gardenrailway, thank you very much for your welcome,
There will only be something from me to read from time to time, as we are not always in the garden. My friend and I have built a steam locomotive HF110C (is not finished ). The cab and upper part of the tender are from LGB, because these parts are exactly 1:19 . The boiler and the chassis are made of brass, the wheels are stainless steel and the Heusinger control is from Märklin gauge I. Everything was built according to drawings by Henschel from the Peter Zander Archive (HEBA)





The pictures were partly taken on my friend's 0-gauge system during the test drive. The tender has a 14.4V LiIon 900mAh battery and an RC receiver. The Faulhaber gear motor and the axle drive are of course in the locomotive.
I might build such a loading later

Welcome Michael,
As everyone has already said - welcome! Your modular system looks as though it will provide plenty of flexibility for you, and the engine you are constructing looks first class. That last photo of the unloading platform for the skip wagons is a brilliant reference photo for those wanting to emulate that in 1:19 scale. It would be well worth posting that in the reference photo thread https://gardenrails.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=12532 so that others can easily find it again.
I'm looking forward to more news from you.

A welcome from me too Michael. I do agree about the final photograph being interesting and I see the skips are being loaded into a transporter wagon, which is something I have recently built.....

today we are in ouer garden. today i built a couple of track modules.The side parts are made of 4mm beech plywood 6cm high.
the cross braces are made of wood 4.8x2.4cm.screwed with Spax 4x40mm.is very stable.later everything will be painted gray


The track is screwed onto the cross bars.I fill in the gaps with styrofoam.

Looks very workmanlike, Michael. How will you support the modules, or will they just be on the ground?

Wow! That seems very well engineered. i hope it's weatherproof. Look forward to seeing your line develop

Hello,
my train station is weatherproof and consists of aluminum profiles with weatherproof plywood, I paint the track modules with weatherproof paint, but I can only set up a complete track 2-3 times a year. That will of course be in good weather.

I hope you have avoided the really wet weather which hit Germany and Belgium recently. Looking forward to seeing some photos when it's fully erected (when / if the fine weather comes) .....

where our garden is, there have been no storms apart from heavy rain, well the 2-3 times I can set everything up, hopefully there will be nice weather. But first I have to build a lot of track modules. I will report from time to time, Michael

me too running 16mm O gauge And fan of RC battery power DCC and all that whats the point of all that track cleaning and blind sections ... LOL

My wish list there was a better range of RC controls for model railways . Since the application is clearly mature in model aircraft.

In UK we are stuck with "Deltang" as suppliers . They have the worst website in europe with 6 point print and impossible jargon .... What have you in Germany as suppliers we could look at please ?

One wish list > Forced auto stop ( eg at station ) then controller is reset to start again when ready Experimenting with reed relay in track somehow to reset controller to zeros in controller !! little progress

I came to this via Faller Hit Train 1970's German system. Found a whole set in a dump. Got it working and got hooked. Its such an elegant system ahead of its time.
Converted one loco to RC but kept another with original track control inserts Now got those on remote servo controls So run both .
Aiming for a tram system as space is restricted. Anyway

Let us know please some more tech details of your RC system Have you achieved any more than hand controller fwd reverse fast slow and maybe a whistle ?

There are a few RC controls other than Deltang, though I use Deltang through RC Trains and Micron; just to name a few available:

• Fosworks

• Brian Jones

• Revolution

• Loco Works

I know there are others, just can't recall.

I know deltang .. BUT never seems to be any technological advancements from anyoone
Whoever its still the same offering : Box ( tx) that sends fwd /reverse/ speed and if your lucky a whistle or two Wrapped up in small print.

provision of feedback to tx controller eg : track device at a station stop that resets tx controls to zero and train stops ..... ( and maybe whistles ..LOL)

Iirc there are programmable options on the Deltang such as Station Stop and Shuttle.

Yes, and Rik's Peckforton blogs cover those in precise detail.

And there are those of us, on here, you can ask if you get stuck..

If you print out your own copy of the instructions,you can make the text as big as you like!
