In reponce to the bogie- 4 wheel coach issue, the wisbech Upwell tramway had several 4 wheel carriage of a similar design to the bogie carriages. There is a very good picture of a Y6 tram and said 4 wheel carraiges in the book 'Lost Railways of East Anglia'
Hope some of this info helped[/quote]

As a matter of interest, I did recently examine my W&U coach to see if it would be possible to cut it down to reproduce the four-wheel version (I've become rather tired of the problems it gives on our sharpest curves). I managed to find some drawings of the two types of the internet but frustratingly, the middle section of the bogie coach turns out to be slightly too short to make the four-wheel version. But, if someone braver than I wants to try scratchbuilding I'd be interested to see the results...

are these tram IP kits easy to make? as wouldnt mind one and i wouldnt say im the best person at making kits...

Henrietta was based on a carriage like that used as the Buffet Car in Titfield Thunderbolt.

NNR (where i volunteer) has a sister carriage which is currently undergoing restoration, it has 4 wheels per bogie so Henretta would be an 8 wheeler although in the TV stories she is portrayed as a 4 wheeler, not sure about the railway series?, gosh its confusing :? :|

"It's really perfectly simple", as Basil Fawlty might say...

The Wisbech and Upwell tramway ran two types of coach. The earlier vehicles were four-wheelers; this type was the model for Henrietta in both the railway series books and the Thomas the Tank Engine TV series. However, the last two W&U coaches, Nos. 7 and 8, had longer bodies and were therefore fitted with bogies.

These drawings should make the difference clear (posted for educational purposes only, etc, etc):

Hope this helps :)
