Long time no post.
In the absence I acquired a Roundhouse Atlantic, had a treacherous relationship with it involving a trip to Doncaster for a professional respray, and then in the end sold it on. In its place for 'heavy hauler' I have acquired a very nice Accucraft Lawley.
I have already replaced the piston o-rings, the cylinder cap gland rings, replaced the mazak wheel cranks for newer, thicker steel ones and the grubs screws too.
Is there anything I need to know or be aware of on these attractive locomotives? ~
Many thanks.
Accucraft Lawley
Re: Accucraft Lawley
Not much to add here, except that I found my Lawley, and the earlier Wrekin, a little unstable on some of my track.
Curves of around 2'6" radius, in SM32 flexi-track, had some kinks, from knee-bending.
The fully flanged wheels were unhappy.
Eventually I turned the centre wheels to flangeless and all problems were solved.
This problem did not occur on the later Peco set track curves.
