Brake Pipes

This might seem like an odd question, but does anyone produce brake pipes that actually connect together in 16mm? It seems possible (though my attempts at home look a little dodgey), and I feel like I've seen it before somewhere, but for the life of my cannot find a supplier!

Thanks

Yes!, but I can't remember who supplied them, and it was some years ago, so possibly no longer available? They would have been expensive but did actually work as I had some myself. Somewhere I have some fitted to my stock so I will try to sort one out and post a picture.

Edit..... I hope these pictures will help to show how they work......

The main pipe is whitemetal with a spring attached, the end connections are also whitemetal which plug into the hollow spring and press against each other, both in the connected and stored positions. Each end connection is a disc with two pins on one face (e.g. 1200 and 0600) and two cut-outs (0300 and 0900). When connected the pins on one connector locate into the cut-outs on the other and are held in position by the spring pressure.
My guess is that they were probably Brandbright?

I'm also fairly sure Brandbright do/used to do them.

https://brandbright.co.uk/shop/accessor ... ies/rsa49/ - that's all I could find, might be it.

Would it work replacing the connectors with tiny neodymium magnets?

That's it.... but shown upside-down!

Magnets might be a better option if used with more flexible pipes?
