Sadly this project was initiated as a result of the passing of a G scale modeller, who I didn’t know.
I was offered a box of goodies for a reasonable price to help out. Although I didn’t need most of the stuff I thought I would be able to sell it on at Peterborough and excess profits could perhaps be handed back to the family. However as the show was postponed and a lockdown or two followed I decided to have a go at completing some of the kits.
There were buildings and line side stuff that I will put on the forum later.
I will also do a more detailed look at this work and hopefully get it in SMT.

Amongst the partially started rolling stock was a very old ‘Perfect World’ Woodpecker tram engine kit, with bits missing and a couple of damaged LGB 4 wheel wagons fitted with massive broken couplings and the LGB single axle bogie set up that allows 45mm gauge stock to utilise sharp radius curves. I didn’t need a tram engine but I did need a rail mounted housing for a digger unit I’d bought some time ago.
I removed the G scale wheels and related mechanical gubbins from both wagons replacing them with Swift Sixteen bogies and wheels and utilising one wagon to host the digger. I raided my odds and sods box and bashed together what you see in the following photos. This set up will get its first running session in the spring.

A really useful piece of kit Andy, it looks like something I would make and would certainly fit in with my stock.

Thanks for that. There is more to come with some buildings.
