Haha nice! That whistle is v. high pitched! Have you thought about connecting a pipe to the whistle outlet so you use it as a valve, then connecting to a larger whistle to produce a deeper tone? See here: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/andrew.bur ... istle.html

Blowdown valve is simply re sited and pretends to be some sort of steam control valve in my imagination and who knows one day maybe the steam take off will be useful for something lol (I had to move it from its original posiion so I could move the gas tank farther back)

Ta for the whistle link I may well give that a go one day (dont suppose anyone knows a link that lets you hear what it sounds like ?) but for the moment I am happy with the little toot it already gives. It is noticeable so it serves its purpose lol ;) 8)

Cheers

looks like you've got a good paint finish there, though I think the name plates would look better on the boiler

I agree with laalratty, it would look lovely! Are you going to paint the short bit of roof black? Also, how about 'LMS Works 2009' plates on the sides of the cab? :D

Have you seen Tag Gorton's Shawe Fowler, it has nameplates on the boiler, they look odd.

The plates on the fowler don't look too bad to me, it's obviously all down to taste. But wherever there posistion, I think the plates will look best dead centre along the boiler eg an equal legnth in from both ends of the boiler. At the moment it looks to be closer to the cab end

Another day or two and methinks "Lady of the Lake" will be entering service and in traffic.

As Mr Bond said, it keeps on getting better every time you post pics. However I hope you are going to make something more perminant for holding the tender bogies on then blue tack!

Looks great in the flesh :D Just move that nameplate 1/2 inch to the right & it'll be perfect ;)
