Well "Lady of the Lake" is now nearing completion so today she was shunted out of the workshops onto a siding to allow for a few photos.

Here they are:

Fantastic, but SLRmidge says please move the nameplates to between the boiler bands, and i'm tempted to agree with him. I'm not sure about the ladder on the back of the tender as well, I think it spoils it a bit. And I do look forward to seeing it if you do a drop on cab roof. But otherwise, great job Jools, look forward to seeing it tommorow ;)

"It's a model icebreaker sir."
"It's a bit big isn't it?"
"It's a full scale model sir....."

But the nameplate is placed centrally. Albeit over the centre driving wheelset ;)

It looks brilliant Jools, when will you be doing the first batch 8)

Lovely! A very nice paint finish too.

Other than the LMS Pacifics, I can't think of any locos that have their nameplates mounted on the boiler, so my vote is "leave them where they are".

That's brilliant! Nice to see something a bit different, and the choice of livery is spot on in my opinion :)

[cheeky git mode] You mentioned earlier in the thread that the original body might be for sale at some point, did you sell it in the end? [/cheeky git mode]

Yes I am afraid the body was sold to a local modeller.

Ahh well- was worth asking! I'm hoping to acquire a Lawley myself shortly and modify it somewhat cosmetically, although not as drastically as you have (nor I suspect to such great effect). It would have been nice to have had a spare for when it all went Pete Tong!

lol Good Luck I am sure whatever you do will be great. Remember that as long as you are happy with it it odes not matter if it is perfect.

;)

I am very happy with "Lady of the Lake", she runs very nicely with a rake of six coaches.
