Isn't there a strimmer on a wagon shown somewhere on the Forum? I know I have seen one somewhere.

This one? Pretty sure he's a member here..

Another excellent video as always, Rik. In time, I plan on doing videos of my own, and would be thrilled if they came out as well as yours.

Yes Melbournesparks is a member although he very rarely posts anything, which is a shame. I'm sure we could all learn from him.

Thanks Aaron
Just checked the membership and there is indeed a MelbourneSparks .....

My version of the strimmer car would need to have two vertically mounted blades. Most of my problems come from side hanging foliage ..... :?

Rik
PS I see Philipy has just beaten me to it ....

Funny you say that, I've been considering something like that myself. Doubt I'll ever get round to building one, though..

Well Rik, that's another masterpiece of video making. You are a master in more ways than one aren't you. I seem to have missed your 3d printing of those loco's though.

Have you put it on the forum.... :dontknow: Stupid question really...

Terrific. And even better watching it on a large(r) screen.

(I sometimes think my own video looks best on the iphone — it ‘tightens up’ any resolution issues and appears to ‘intensify’ colour)

...maybe Mike Barton's from one of our virtual meet-ups?

I wonder how a 6" or 8" dia model plane propeller would go mounted on the side of a wagon, with a 3V motor??

You could design the rail equivalent of this, and then trim top and sides!

I was thinking the same thing Greg but wasn't game to suggest it

A propeller powered connected to a brushless motor powered by a 3.7V Lipo would certainly cut through soft foliage, a double shafted motor with a propeller may even work albeit with a larger power source.
I have employed a contractor to trim some of my plants, he works for nothing but is selective with what he trims. Also known as a possum!!!

Thanks chaps. I'm trying to film the sequel but Sod's Law has intervened. One loco failed (battery problem), so I replaced it with another, took a couple of shots then it too failed with a battery problem. I'm touching wood as I say this, but I very seldom have battery problems ..... I think it must be Bank Holiday Gremlins ..... :dontknow:

Rik,
I've got used to enjoying your videos and your railway in general. I'm looking to move to mainly battery control even on steam outline so that I may sit in a swivel seat or my gazebo and operate trains across my railway. I'm hoping the battery issues you have are resolveable.
Best wishes.
