Is this a "Garden Railway" ?

When perusing Pinterest on garden railways, this came on.

So I thought to share it with you and get your thought's on it. Mine is, is it really a garden railway, or would the owner be better putting down like most, if not all garden railwayers (Not a Proper word) do..

Members know how I feel about peoples line's, It's theirs and they do what the like. Maybe they don't have a big garden, but who does. Maybe they don't like running end to end. Just seems a lot of hard work, but so long as they are happy...

I have very mixed feelings about this one Rod, certainly it is in a garden but how can it be described as a railway? Yes, it has track and a locomotive but no real railway could possibly be constructed in this way. It is more like a theme park ride. It could be described as a garden feature, sculpture, folly, engineering experiment etc.... but, garden railway... no!

Well I suppose you could say that you can get a long run in a relatively small footprint! However it's not my cup of tea.

It's purpose is not obvious, it doesn't appear to lift the line to a higher level.
It could simply be to add a delay to trains before re-entering a more scenic element of the layout.

It's trains, wagons, and track. It's in a garden.
It is a garden railway.
Rule 1 applies.

I would regard it as a novelty, a talking-point. Perhaps it is just a 'see-what-you-can-do-with-this' kind of thing. A bit like 'is a circle of track around the Christmas tree a model railway?' Must admit it is pretty clever though.

To my mind its just railway track in a garden, which isn't the same as a Garden Railway by any stretch of the imagination. Might amuse the kids but thats about all.

It's like an Indian hill railway with no hill! Put a Roundhouse Darjeeling on this job. It IS in a garden...
