New Mamod Hunslet?
Has anyone on here heard anything about this?
I saw a post on Facebook from the 12th September showing a preview picture of the new loco.
Supposedly based on the same chassis as the Stirling with an open cab.

Re: New Mamod Hunslet?
I'll just pop this here!
It's lifted from a post on the "16mm Mamod & Oscillator Locos - owners, collectors and Mamodifications" facebook group.
Mods - please delete if you don't feel it's appropriate.
I know it's a Mamod, but I oh so want one.
Pricing rumoured to be £625 ish, which seems fair as the Stirling is £660.

Re: New Mamod Hunslet?
Will it have a pressure gauge? I think the Stirling has one.

Re: New Mamod Hunslet?
The photo was supposedly of an early prototype, so if the Stirling has a pressure gauge as standard, I don't see why this wouldn't.
I'm hoping to have a chat with John (John Sutton Books) at Beds in Steam, he's expecting to take delivery of an early batch when released.

Re: New Mamod Hunslet?
Well, I rather liked the look of it on the stand at Warley...
Re: New Mamod Hunslet?
I saw it at Steam in Beds yesterday, nice looking loco in its own right but not really a quarry Hunslet. I think they should market it as a simply a quarry loco. Apart from on here I can not find any mention or pictures of it anywhere.

I was also there, and agree with your comments regarding the name.
I could never scratch build a steamer, but I can make some minor cosmetic changes to one of these to achieve the impression I'm after.

Re: New Mamod Hunslet?
I've seen a photo of the complete and painted locomotive on the 16mm Association Facebook group (not the group from which the photo above was taken).
I've noticed that Mamod can be a bit slow in getting new products on to their website.

It will be featured in Garden Rail 305 January 2020.
This is the photo Garden Rail posted on Facebook. I guess it is a Penrhyn Quarry version with that upside down coupling!

Re: New Mamod Hunslet?
Whether or not it resembles an actual Hunslet, I think that's a very good-looking engine. I think Mamod has hit the nail on the head with this one. With some lining and a driver figure, it would look really excellent.
Re: New Mamod Hunslet?
Agree Keith, that is a very nice looking loco.

Re: New Mamod Hunslet?
John Sutton is offering a red* version - and as far as I can see he's beaten Mamod to getting pictures on to a website.
*Well, it's described as maroon but the photos make the bodywork look much the same as the bufferbeams to me (could be the photo light conditions or my eyesight, though!).

Re: New Mamod Hunslet?
And the standard black version has now made it on to the Mamod website.

It's the same red as the Stirling.
Picked mine up from John at Warwick, the last show any of us will be attending for some time.
