Hi,

I have been working my way through checking a number of vintage/old model steam locomotives that my model club has. I have been told this is a Marklin from the 1920's. Video at:

Regards Tony.

Great video Tony. It did seem to run better the more you ran her.

Hi Rod,

It did seem to run better the more you ran her.

Yes, possibly because the water was lower in the boiler better evaporation so more steam? With its virtually unprotected flame I wonder if they were ever intended to run outdoors? I have a few more about 10 old model locomotives both clockwork and steam to work through for the club. I am beginning to wonder that its was a good idea suggesting that they could run them it they dual gauged their G45 track!

Take care Tony.

Always nice to see more "ancient" live steam. I agree with you on the evaporation - all of my pot-boilered engines exhibit similar behavior over the course of a run. Would love to see the other engines as you work through reviving them. ;)
