As usual many locos (and their owners of course) were present, including Peter Angus with a couple of lovely locos. The weather was kinder than last time, but there was a cold blustery wind at times which caused an incident or two! (I'll let laalratty expand on that). Some pics.....

Super pictures and poor old Bluebottle.

Never mind poor old Bluebottle! I can expand on what SLRmidge aluded to, but the ANLR has unfortunatly had it's first stock right off. A very nasty gust of wind caught the train on Jubilee bridge. The buffet car rolled, and this took the other 4 caoches of the rake with it, and unfortuantly also the engine, which was guess what? yep Taliesin (not owned by me remember). Taliesin survived comparitively unscathed, and cetainly runneble because it landed on model Welsh Highland railway Ashbury number 4, and Welsh Highland railway Gladstone car number 8. Number 4 is a vitual write off, and end was ripper off, the body was well destroyed on one side and a bogie was broken. One end of number 8 was smashed in, as was the roof, but the damage is repearable, a new roof will be required. As for Tal, there was not a scratch on the body shell but the cab roof hinge was bent, as was the smokebox and a cab step. There is also a steam leak on the underside, untraced as yet. The loco did run later double headed with PTLRcecil's single fairlie Guenevere. The other 3 coaches only had minor damage.
Needless to say I didn't take pics of the derailment, but I will post pics of other happening tommorow.

Nasty one laalratty :S... that viaduct needs to be inspected by the PTLR elf n safety officer and a massive day-glow 1 inch thick steel fence added around it!

Nice piccies anyway, looks like plenty of fun! Shame I'm so far down south (the most southern member in the UK on the forum I expect).

Ouch, ouch, ouch. Not good, not good at all. Not quite the worst thing that could have happened but very nearly. How many years off your life has that accident taken you?

I'll be honest, that story and photo almost made me cry, I'm so sorry to hear that mate. Atleast I supose it stops you from building totally new coaches for a while and you can make them even better.

If it helps, I rode behind the Baldwin in the real buffet car today, very comfy.

Aye, saw a tantalising clip of it in service on a youtube video, looked good with the Gladstone Car. Talking of Gladstone car, started reaparing it today, it honestly isn't that bad, the only major issue will be getting the old roof off.

This is one ANLR loco not to have appeared on here before, Harry, built on a triang big big train Hymek motor bogie. It happily hauled round the observation car and the tank wagon putting paraffin on the rails, even up the 1 in 60 of the CGRL

Good pics the damage to Taliesin is quite ironic after Cecil's threats prior to the event.

Lovely shots there laalratty, I like the headboards. I must get a laminator!

I just varnished them, using humbrol satin varnish, this is also keeping the sign on the buffet car water tight as well
