Is there an alternative track I can use in O gauge to run my clockwork locos and wagons outdoors I know the flanges on clockwork locos can be an issue. Any advice would be welcomed.

Code 200 rail should be alright but would avoid code 143 as I doubt the wheels will be able to go through points and sleeper chairs.

One of the pitfalls is the back to back dimension between the flanges of a wheelset. Tinplate stuff (Meccano in particular) is very coarse and the risk is that they may not fit between the check rails at a crossing nose and may ride up, allowing them to run into derailment.

I'm no expert on this, others may offer better advice and the internet will very likely offer further information. Good luck - it's nice to see Hornby trains being enjoyed outdoors.

I run a Bing tin plate 0 gauge Life Steamer on MSS track with turnouts and have no problems with derailing until now.
