Hi All

we have been busy since we last posted about the railway. We have swapped out the 45mm track for 32mm and changed the layout a bit.

We are planning to have a dogbone folded back on itself so that we can have continuous running if we want and we can also do end to end with running around. The loop is planned for where the bricks and planks are in the first photo. trying to even out the gradients but we are stuck with some of the tight curves.

Lots to go at for 2018.

It looks like you've already done a fair bit. It's all looking very interesting. There's something about Millstone Grit that lends itself to a railway setting.

I'm really looking forward to seeing more, please keep us posted.

It's a great height and base to play around with for your railway.

Thanks for the comments, I am looking forward to the warmer weather to get back out and carry on. Looking back at the photos myself it all looks very barren and moonlike. I have some tree cuttings to plant, which I may try burying in the pot to restrict growth but I also plan to get some dwarf varieties to soften the appearance and hide the railway. We have not sorted out the backstory yet, I will discuss this with my son who is my partner in grime, suspect a quarry or mine may feature.

Agree with Tom, that’s a great height to work and play on. A quarry would blend into the stonework perfect I think.

That's a great looking site. It might look barren now but remember it's a 'work in progress' and it will mature and look great in time. Looking forward to seeing your progress.

As a location for your railway it looks perfect with all that natural stone surround. The walls should allow shelter from severe weather and protect your buildings etc.
Looking forward to seeing it grow, lets hope for decent modelling weather during the break.

Looks interesting so far. Be interested to see how it develops.
