Hi just want to know what is the smallest size oval layout I can use with my O gauge MSS loco as I plan to house one in my shed for over the winter months.

Slightly strange answer but.
The largest radius curves you can get in. This will make life easier if you start buying larger stuff.
Mss locos will run on very tight curves, I think 5ft diameter is about the smallest.

Happy to help.
Have a good browse through the Mamod/MSS section to see what others have done and the issues that they have had. Lots of people start off down this route and become expert quite quickly.

Dreamsteam website states at this time:

Please note: If running this product on Peco track, its tyre and flange profile means it requires a minimum radius of 3 foot 6 inches to avoid binding. This issue is not evident on the MSS or Mamod 2 foot 6 inch fixed radius track.
