Slowly but surely Michael. Need to add some rivets behind the boards and the metal runners ( brass channel) but getting close..

Where do you get your ideas from, they are brilliant.

Inspiration for this was an article in Garden Rail 189, just went taller.
If I could choose my own epitaph it might well be simple and quirky!
Thanks for the kind comments, wondering if I can manufacture 12 square nuts from styrene strip for the securing bolts for this evening. Simple, quirky and as tight as a ducks bottom...not sure the masons will carve that last bit

They look fantastic. I'm always impressed with what a talented person can bash a simple kit into

Might be a good idea to cut them with a cloth so has to keep them from shooting off into the distance
Very funny with the ducks bottom......thats made my morning.

Stage one weathering reached . Nail art rivets to hold the runners and 10ba bolts to secure the vertical bulkheads. Hopefully we'll get there tomorrow and then think about kit 3.

Great little wagon. Rather concerned about the serious industrial accident in the background though. That bloke must be in some pain.

Pleased with number 23, so much so she has been granted talisman brass skip couplings
Apologies for poor Joe, I took him to casualty and a few eyebrows were raised when I told them he fell and the brass rod accidentally inserted itself into his bottom. Could happen to anyone.
What to do with the third kit.?

Number 24 is underway and decided to add a sliver of balsa square between the top and bottom chassis to create a girder look. Some dings in the wood with my heavy handed razor sawing but nothing a blob of wood glue and iron filings won't sort.

These are going to make up a fine looking train when all together.

Thanks for the idea Grant, a nice little train needs a brake van! A styrene box so far with a car seat from a modelearth casting bought last year for no other reason than it looked good. Lots of rivets still to do and a decision on colour.

Bit further on the last kit. Brake stand came from a cone designed for holding roll ups or special spliffs judging by the leaf design on the lid. Perhaps a roof ??
