I heard Scaldwell had been rehomed, but I never realised it was to Southwold , hopefully she sees steam again in the not too distant future
Here she is running at about the 27 minute mark

Re: For fans of the Southwold...
It is great to see that there is a possibility of the Southwold being rebuilt and it will be great to Scaldwell running again at some point. It is strange that so little was done to preserve any remnants of the very extensive 3ft gauge systems in the Midlands ironstone fields. Most of the major slate railways, or at least bits of them are preserved in one form or another or in the process of being resurrected. It would have been nice to see some of the stuff around the midlands preserved, especially as some of it was working until comparatively recently.

Lookup Irchester Country Park, scroll down to "Railways" and click.

I know, but it just seems like not a lot left of what was once very widespread.

Those Sharp Stewart engines supplied to the Southwold were really quite pleasing, they supplied a metre gauge 0-6-0 version for the Guernica railway in 1888, works no. 3435
The resemblance to her Southwold sisters is clear to be seen
this loco still exists, albeit rebuilt having lost much of her charm (including her tall funnel) and a good deal of her resemblance to the southwold locos
