Is the software shareware and then you have to pay for it?

Windows Movie Maker does work on Windows 10, however, it is part of Windows Essentials 2012 software which is no longer supported or available for download from Microsoft but if you have it installed it will continue to work for the moment.
I understand there will be a replacement for Windows Movie Maker which can be installed from the Windows App Store but will only work on Windows 8.1 & Win10.
The software you use looks good though so thanks for sharing.

Thanks - useful tip - and there's me thinking it was all done with smoke and mirrors.
