Golden Fishplate Ceremony at the MYGLR

Post by SillyBilly » Sat Mar 07, 2009 10:04 pm

Today I spent the day a moelygestlr's Moel-Y-Gest Light Railway, through combined effort we produced this idea to mock (in a good way, Paul is a WHR tracklayer) the recent joing of the FfR and WHR. As the loop had been linked up a few years ago this was crowned the official ceremony of the linking.

Brilliant "The dab hand gang" lmao
Nice video, i seriously need one of those ballast wagons, would make reballasting so much easier (guess what I've been doing recently?)
"What the hell is that?"
"It's a model icebreaker sir."
"It's a bit big isn't it?"
"It's a full scale model sir....."

Last Saturday's events in Porthmadog seem to have missed out the bit where one loco rams another....!

Ye, I think they took it too seriously, needed some humour somewhere.

Personally I think it would have been great if they'd held the ceremony at Traeth Mawr; then they could have used Russell (if only its overhaul had been completed in time) and one of the Garratts to recreate that clichéd photograph of Promontory Point...oh well.

The problem with having it there is the ceremony is not right next to the company's own pub, cafe and shop ;) .

I know, it was some bad driving on my part. To be fair that was the first time i had driven Alicia for a while and isn't it always the case that the time you cock up is the time when its on video!

A great day was had by both me and will though. There were quite a few accidents too, quite realsitic some of them! (unfortunatly, i dont think any where caught on camera).
Thanks,

Paul Wood
